New plan for immigration? Same racist policies

Read online at https://workersliberty.org/node/37390 New plan for immigration? Same racist policies Submitted by AWL on 25 May, 2021 - 6:46 Author: Wilson Gibbons On 24 May Home Secretary Priti Patel was the keynote speaker of the “What’s next for immigration?” online conference hosted by Bright Blue, a “liberal conservative” think tank. The “new plan for immigration”, she claimed, is simply a “fair but firm” expression of the democratic rights of the people of the UK first in the EU referendum and again in 2019. She lambasted anyone who had the guts to stand up against her government as sowing dissent whilst she is, of course, in line with the opinion of the silent majority of UK citizens with “legitimate concerns”.

Anti-Irish racism must be called out by us all, says Mike Dailly

SECTARIANISM is defined by the Oxford English dictionary as “strong support for one particular religious or political group, especially when this leads to violence between different groups”. In Glasgow and the West of Scotland, sectarianism has been used as a palatable euphemism for racism.  What we’ve seen on our streets over the last weeks and months is racism against Catholics and people of Irish decent. This form of racism has been tolerated for far too long in Scotland. Spurious pleas in mitigation that it’s a complex cultural or historical divide, or the problem of separate schools have been misused and abused.
