In the wake of the latest revelations surrounding Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), including instances in which she expressed support for violence against U.S. elected officials, Democrats are no longer willing to wait for Republican leaders to do the right thing. As early as tomorrow, House Dems are prepared to vote on a resolution stripping the right-wing congresswoman of her committee assignments.

The swipe was a reference to Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, who is facing removal from her committee posts after more than a week of vocal outrage from members of Congress over Greene’s past comments in support of conspiracy theories, such as QAnon and 9/11 trutherism, and social media interactions that some took as threatening violence against Pelosi.

A key House panel voted Wednesday to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of all her committee assignments in a blistering rebuke of her calls for violence against fellow members of Congress and embrace of a cacophony of far-right conspiracy theories.
The vote in the House Rules Committee advanced a resolution to remove the controversial Georgia Republican from her posts on the chamber’s education and budget committees and also ban her from getting any other appointments.
The vote which fell along party lines sends the resolution to the full House, where it is expected to get final approval Thursday.
