In a set of unusual moves, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) are upping the pressure on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to do something about the House’s QAnon problem ahead of a Wednesday Republican conference meeting.
“Loony lies and conspiracy theories are cancer for the Republican Party and our country,” McConnell said Monday, adding without naming Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) that someone with her beliefs is “not living in reality” or strengthening the party.
A recent tranche of Greene’s unearthed social media comments show that she liked calls for the execution of Democratic politicians. In one comment, she urged patience to a user who asked if it was time to hang former President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

In a Twitter post Tuesday, the Georgia Republican posted a photo with a caption saying: Democrats are trying to expel me from Congress. Help me raise $50,000 today and send a message.
The fundraising appeal comes as House Democrats weigh several options to punish the freshman congresswoman for a laundry list of incendiary remarks which range from spreading conspiracies that school shootings were staged events to allegedly indicating support for executing prominent Democratic politicians.

Democrats are taking the task of removing GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia from House committees into their own hands.
Greene, who has publicly promoted QAnon conspiracy theories and made baseless claims about the Sandy Hook school shooting and 9/11, in addition to anti-Semitic and Islamophobic rhetoric, was named to the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Budget Committee.
House Democrats will give House GOP members an ultimatum over the removal of GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia from her committee assignments. Greene yells at journalists after setting off the metal detector outside the doors to the House of Representatives Chamber on January 12, in Washington, D.C.
