FRANKFORT, Ky. (KFVS) - Governor Andy Beshear gave a COVID-19 update at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22.

Beshear and other state leaders received the COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday, December 22.
Along with the governor, Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice John D. Minton, Jr.; House Speaker David Osborne and Senate President Robert Stivers, the heads of the three branches of Kentucky government, received their first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
Dr. Steven Stack, commissioner of the Kentucky Department for Public Health and J. Michael Brown, the secretary of the executive cabinet received their initial dose of the vaccine.

Come January, Rep. Danny Bentley, of Russell, will be chair of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Health and Family Services.
Bentley will also serve as a member of the Appropriations and Revenue, Banking and Insurance, Health and Family Services and Local Government committees when the Kentucky General Assembly convenes in early January, according to an announcement from the office of House Speaker David Osborne on Friday.
âI continue to be committed to serving out the countryâs founding ideals while fighting for the future of our commonwealth,â Bentley said. âIâm honored to have the opportunity to serve the citizens of the 98th District on these committees for another session and will strive to continue pushing Kentucky forward.â
When the Kentucky General Assembly convenes next month, 4th District State Representative Lynn Bechler of Marion will serve on several key committees that reflect the district’s priorities.
According to an announcement from the office of House Speaker David Osborne, Rep. Bechler will serve as chair of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Protection, Tourism, and Energy. In addition, he will serve as a member of the Appropriations and Revenue, Economic Development and Workforce Investment, Small Business and Information Technology, Program Review and Investigations, and the Child Welfare Oversight and Advisory committees when the Kentucky General Assembly convenes early next month.
