New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): As per the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data a total of 1948 persons were arrested and 34 were convicted under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in 2019, the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday informed the Rajya Sabha.
While replying to the question of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Tiruchi Siva in the UAPA case, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said, The NCRB compiles the data on crime as reported to it by States and Union Territories and publishes the same in its annual publication Crime in India . The latest published report is of the year 2019.
680 personnel of paramilitary forces died by suicide in last six years: MHA ANI | Updated: Aug 04, 2021 14:24 IST
New Delhi [India], August 4 (ANI): As per the data provided by Central Armed Police Force (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR), 680 personnel of the paramilitary forces have died by suicide during the last six years, informed Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday.
The number of personnel who have died due to accidents and encounters during the period are 1,764 and 323 respective
Replying to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Sushil Kumar Modi Whether it is a fact that more than 700 personnel of paramilitary forces have committed suicide during the last six years , Ministry of Home Affairs made the declaration.
