Some 57 per cent or around 47,000 households had selected to use e-census for Stage Two during stage one of the Population and Housing Census from January to February 2021, Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) Director General Hajah Mariah binti Haji Yahya said. Hajah Mariah made these comments in her welcoming remarks at an e-census clinic at the lobby area of the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE) on Saturday officially launched by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah. Summary
The modern batik designs and patterns concept is the brainchild of internationally renowned Ugandan artist David Kibuuka, who pioneered the fragmentation technique.
In the technique, he uses mosaics of colour and form to create designs and patterns that can be produced on fabric.

On a Wednesday morning, young Ugandan deaf artist Pathius Tashobya applies dye to his batik painting of African drums.
Tashobya, who tells me that he has just ironed the fabric, is meticulously applying one colour at a time to complete his work.

A total of 18 million out of 32.7 million Malaysians or 55.1 percent have completed the Malaysia Population and Housing Census 2020 (Census 2020) as of Wednesday (May 5).
Deputy chief statistician (Social and Technical Development programme) Nazaria Baharudin said Putrajaya recorded the highest number of people enumerated at 101.3 percent, Perlis (82.8%), Johor (77%), Kelantan (72.3%), and Malacca (70.6%).

“Seven states recorded a response rate of more than 70 per cent among households, namely Kelantan (90 per cent), Putrajaya (84.9 per cent), Perlis (80.1 per cent), Johor (78.9 per cent), Melaka (73.2 per cent), Terengganu (72.5 per cent) and Perak (70.6 per cent).

Seven states recorded a response rate of more than 70% among households, namely Kelantan (90%), Putrajaya (84.9%), Perlis (80.1%), Johor (78.9%), Melaka (73.2%), Terengganu (72.5%) and Perak (70.6%). As for residential areas, six states recorded a high response rate, namely Kelantan 104.1%, Putrajaya (100.4%), Perlis (87.0%), Perak (85.2%), Melaka (84.0% and Johor (83.9%), she said.
