PUTRAJAYA (Feb 17): Lack of knowledge and awareness among society limit their inclusive involvement in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), according to chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin.
Commenting on Malaysia s SDG progress monitoring system (SDG Dashboard), he said the government, the private sector, non-government organisations (NGOs) and the public community share a collective responsibility towards the SDGs.
“It is the responsibility of everyone to preserve the environment in order for the planet to be inherited in a good state for future generations, which is one of the focus areas of the SDGs,” he said in a statement here today.

The Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Francis Kai-Kai, has today, paid an inspirational and spirited visit to the Cartographic Mapping Officers for the 2021 Mid-Term Population and Housing Census, during their training sessions conducted by Statistics Sierra Leone.
During the visit, the Minister expressed his delight in commencement of the training of cartographic mappers; congratulating the participants, who are part of the 1,200 shortlisted candidates selected for the nationwide exercise and for being part of such a landmark event that would kick start the actual Census process.
Dr. Kai-Kai emphasized the importance of the process, noting this was the first time an electronic Census was happening in the country, which in itself would make the process to generate credible Population and Housing Data mid-way between the Census in 2015 and 2025.
