Mary Toy: So because of the COVID-19 pandemic we did convert our scheduled July and September 2020 site visits for VISN (Veterans Integrated Service Networks) 10 and VISN 20 facilities to virtual reviews. We dropped our usual physical inspections with the physical rounds that are done for the environmental care review, and instead initiated an evaluation of COVID readiness and response instead. So to conduct these virtual reviews, we interviewed the facility leaders and staff by video teleconference, and gathered VA staffs feedback through an anonymous electronic survey. KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 A Defence Ministry department cautioned Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) Veterans Association president Capt (Rtd) Datuk Shahruddin Omar that his announced plan to form a political party for retired military personnel could jeopardise his group’s official standing.

Perryn Ashmore plans to retire from his post as HHS chief information officer, a role he was named to in December, at the end of the month.
Janet Vogel, chief information security officer at the department, will take over as acting CIO after Ashmore leaves, HHS confirmed to Modern Healthcare.
Under Ashmore s tenure as CIO, HHS named its first-ever chief artificial intelligence officer.
Ashmore took the helm as the department s acting CIO last year after former HHS CIO José Arrieta resigned in August. Arrieta, who in August said he wanted to spend more time with his children, had played a pivotal role in the rollout of HHS Protect, a database through which hospitals and states report capacity data to the federal government.

The Veterans Affairs Department said the Registrar of Societies (ROS) can suspend or de-register any veterans association if it takes part in political activities.
In a statement today, the department said any association registered under the Veterans Act 2012 is not allowed to organise politically. Veterans associations registered under the Act must conduct their activities.

Months after the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs announced it no longer planned to establish a cemetery in South Barrington, the village board on Friday will discuss the controversial proposal and ways to help local veterans.
One option could be supporting the search for a new veterans cemetery site elsewhere in the suburbs, Mayor Paula McCombie said. Another option could be offering services for veterans, such as assistance with financial matters or making medical appointments, she said.
