Explosive Ordnance Disposal squad called after grenade found in Devizes A grenade was found during a house clearance in Devizes - sparking a major police response today (April 27). Marcus Taylor, who has a shop in the Shambles, had been emptying a box from a house clearance when the grenade was discovered. He called the police who quickly arrived on the scene. Witnesses said the police quickly cleared the device from the Shambles and into a waiting Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) vehicle, trying to not cause panic. A cordon was put in place as police cleared the scene. A police spokesman said: We were called at approximately 3.20pm today (27/04) after a grenade was found in a box in a vehicle in the West Central Car Park, close to The Shambles, Devizes.
