Remember when the football comedy series The Game was out and everyone was trying to figure out what was going to happen with Mel and Derwin? The show started out on CW then moved to BET with new characters, then that was it. But it looks like if you were a fan of that show, you will be happy to know a reboot is in the works. According to Deadline, Paramount + had ordered about 10 of the episodes of the series that was originally started by Mara Brock Akil. And the dramedy will see a few familiar faces reprising their roles like Hosea Chanchez who played Malik, as well as Wendy Raquel Robinson, who played his mom, Tasha Mack. Mara stated, according to The Jasmine Brand, Fifteen years ago I created The Game and am so proud of the success we had, and that I was able to create characters and stories that resonated with so many people. The Game is Returning to Television!
It looks like ‘The Game’ is officially returning to a screen near you. According to Deadline,
Paramount+ has handed a ten-episode series order to its reboot of The CW and BET dramedy with original cast members Wendy Raquel Robinson and Hosea Chanchez reprising their roles.
Julie McNamara, the Executive Vice President and Head Programming of Paramount+ shared her excitement:

The Game was announced by Viacom in late 2020. Now that the series order is officially announced, the team behind the hit series is revealing details on the show, including who is returning from the original iteration.
Robinson and
Chanchez, will return as their characters Tasha Mack and Malik Wright, respectively. While the original series started off as a 30-minute sitcom and eventually morphed into an hour-long dramedy, the reboot will return the series to its half-hour roots.
