NASA has published a stunning snap of a sea of dunes rippling across the red planet.
The breathtaking view was captured by Nasa’s longest-running Martian probe.

The image also shows the icy North Pole of Mars.
“A sea of dark dunes, sculpted by the winds into long lines, surrounds Mars’ northern polar cap,” said NASA.
The space agency described the dune region as covering an area as big as Texas.

The blue dunes are surrounding the Red Planet’s northern polar cap.
