A Fort Dodge man has pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping and gun possession in relation to a June 2020 shooting in the Pleasant Valley neighborhood.
Isiah C. Mosley, 18, was arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping, a Class B felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, a Class D felony, in early March, following a monthslong investigation into the June 16, 2020, shooting that killed two people and injured two others.
He entered a written plea of not guilty on Monday in Webster County District Court.
Police say an unnamed male bystander was attempting to flee in his vehicle when Mosley jumped onto the hood of the car, holding the bystander at gunpoint and demanding he drive Mosley out of the area. After traveling a short distance, Mosley got off the car and fled on foot.

A Fort Dodge man accused of stabbing another man at a downtown apartment in July 2020 has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
Donathan L. Williams, 42, was arrested on July 2, 2020, after the victim, 39-year-old Lavaris Bosworth, walked into the Community Health Center of Fort Dodge, 126 N. 10th St., with wounds on his neck and back. Bosworth was transported to UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center for serious injuries.
The criminal complaint for the incident said that Bosworth was stabbed after Williams followed him up to his fifth-floor apartment in the Biltwell Apartment building, 106 N. 10th St.
Video surveillance showed Willaims, walking with a knife, involved in an apparent altercation in the apartment before leaving, then returning and chasing the victim down the hallway toward the building’s fire escape. In addition to video surveillance, a very apparent trail of blood led officers to the scene of the crime.

The attempted murder trial for a Fort Dodge man accused of stabbing a 71-year-old woman in October 2020 has been suspended pending the results of a competency evaluation.
Reino Valentino Bodady, 37, was set to go to trial today in Webster County District Court. He was charged with attempted murder, a Class B felony, after police say he stabbed a female relative with a knife in the neck and abdomen in the early hours of Oct. 26.
However, during the final pretrial hearing on Monday afternoon, Bodady’s defense attorney, Judd Parker, said that after meeting with his client several times over the weekend, he was concerned that Bodady “is not appreciating the proceedings or able to effectively assist in his defense.”
