A man is due to appear in court after a serious injury was caused as a result of a crash in October A MAN is due to appear in court after another man sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of a serious crash in North Dorset. On Thursday, October 8 2020 two vehicles collided on Landshire Lane, near the Gibbs Marsh Trading Estate in Stalbridge. The crash, which involved a black Nissan Micra and a black Yamaha motorcycle, forced the road to be closed for several hours by police as emergency services attended the scene. The rider of the motorcycle – a man aged in his 20s from Somerset – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.

The victim, who was 29-weeks pregnant at the time of the alleged attack, had suffered a head injury, and it was later discovered that her baby had died within the womb. The incident took place in the area of Addison Close, Gillingham, on May 30 last year. Following enquiries by Dorset Police, a 34-year-old local man was arrested. He was issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court on February 26, for offences of child destruction and intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm.

At approximately 9.30am, Tirrell crashed head-on into a red Ford Fiesta on the B3157 near to the junction of Cogden Beach car park. Police closed the road while firefighters from Bridport and Beaminster attended and an air ambulance landed in a nearby field. Two people, one in each car, were trapped and had to be cut free from their vehicles by firefighters. A picture taken at the scene showed extensive damage to the vehicles involved.
