After being removed, Pitt-Pladdy was arrested and escorted to Dorset County Hospital where a sample of blood was taken for analysis. Tests showed there was 245 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of his blood. The drink drive limit is 80 milligrams. In interview, Pitt-Pladdy explained he was ‘startled’ by the officers who awoke him and he ‘panicked’. Mr Oakley said: “He said he had depression, suffered from anxiety and was on medication. “Earlier in the day, he had been driving to work but he couldn’t due to his anxiety. He spent all day trying to calm down.” Pitt-Pladdy, of East Street, Beaminster, pleaded guilty to drink driving and failed to stop a vehicle when required by police.

Georgie Michael Mandry, 25, was said to have used a Mercedes A45 in the London road on October 13, 2020, without insurance and without a driving licence. The charges against him were proved in his absence at City of London Magistrates’ Court hearing earlier this year. At a hearing at the same court on June 22, which Mandry, of The Hawthorns, Christchurch, was not present for, the bench issued a £660 fine along with an order to pay £85 prosecution costs and a £66 surcharge.

Thief stole charity collection box in ‘unacceptable’ crime A THIEF who stole a charity collection box and burgled a property in Dorset has been jailed. Dylan Leslie Brewer, aged 39, of Orchard Court in Gillingham, appeared at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday June 18 and pleaded guilty to burglary and theft. He was sentenced to 32 weeks in prison.

Connor Duncan, aged 25, was behind the wheel of a Renault Captur on the A354 between Jurassic Roundabout and Veasta Roundabout on Sunday, October 11, 2020. He was stopped by police officers who discovered he was without a driving licence or insurance. Duncan also underwent a drugs test, which saw he had cocaine in his blood. A reading saw he had 129 microgrammes in his blood, which exceeded the legal limit. Duncan, of Waterford Road, Liverpool, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle without a valid insurance and driving licence, as well as driving a vehicle under the influence of a drug above the legal limt at Weymouth Magistrates’ Court.
