VERO BEACH, Fla. – A man swimming near Disney’s Vero Beach Resort was bitten by a shark Thursday, according to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office.
Details were not immediately available about what type of shark or how big it was.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY Fire rescue officials said a 54-year-old man boogie boarding in the ocean facing Disney s Vero Beach Resort appeared to have been bitten twice by a shark.
Indian River County Fire Rescue took the man to Sebastian River Medical Center with leg wounds where they said he would be flown to another hospital, said Battalion Chief Roger Dion.
Dion said the man had wounds to his calf and near his knee on the front and back of his leg. The man came out of the water around 10:30 a.m.

On Thursday morning, a 54-year-old man was swimming in the ocean near Disney s Vero Beach Resort and was bit by a shark.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff s Office, the man was alert and stable when they arrived on the scene. The victim was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.
At this time, the type of shark, its size, and other details aren t known.
