Fire destroys workshop in the Town of Kickapoo

TOWN OF KICKAPOO, Wis. (WKBT) – A fire destroyed a workshop in the Town of Kickapoo Friday, according to a news release from the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
Crews were dispatched at about 8:52 a.m. Friday to a large structure fire at S8335 McKittrick Ln. in the Town of Kickapoo.
It was determined the fire started around a diesel motor in the workshop and quickly spread throughout the building.
Sheriff John Spears says fire crews were on scene for about five hours.
The workshop is a total loss.
The Readstown, Viroqua, Viola, Richland Center, La Farge and Soldiers Grove fire departments, as well as Readstown Emergency Medical Service all assisted at the scene.
