Howard Alexander April 27, 2021 - 8:45 AM A water main break created a huge sinkhole on Highway 97 across from Vernon Jubilee Hospital last night and the traffic impacts are still being felt this morning. There is single-lane alternating traffic on Highway 97 between 16 Avenue and 28 Avenue following the water main break at around 10 p.m. yesterday, April 26, according to DriveBC. The northbound lanes remain closed this morning impacting traffic in both directions. between the hospital and Highway 6. The City says in a media release the main was repaired overnight but the highway was significantly damaged and crews continue to work to fix the roadway.

New case counts remained around the 900 to 1,000 range per day over the weekend.
