DOZENS OF INMATES HAVE TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS BUT ONE QUESTION THAT S STILL UNKNOWN IS EXACTLY HOW IT MADE ITS WAY INSIDE. JIM BAKER / VT CORRECTIONS COMMISSIONER - THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT AND CRITICAL EVENT SO FAR.NEARLY 130 INMATES AND 10 STAFF MEMBERS AT NORTHERN STATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY IN NEWPORT HAVE TESTE POSITIVE FOR COVID-19. TESTING RAMPED UP AFTER AN EMPLOYEE TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS IN THE MIDDLE OF FEBRUARY.. EVERYONE THERE WAS TESTED ABOUT A WEEK LATER.
