This new partnership with Vermont Tech will benefit GLOBALFOUNDRIES employees

GLOBALFOUNDRIES (GF) and Vermont Technical College (Vermont Tech) recently announced a new partnership which will financially assist employees of the manufacturing company who either want to attend the college or already have. GF employees will be able to enroll in Vermont Tech’s undergraduate, graduate, or certificate programs at discounted tuition rates. Additionally, Vermont Tech alumni who work at GF will be able to benefit retroactively through a tuition reimbursement program. While the manufacturer gets to have its staff members further their education for a discounted price, the college also gets to benefit by having seasoned professionals join the campus and learning community – broadening the experience for current students.

In a VtDigger story last week, Kate Barlow, the farm foundation’s president, characterized what’s happening in Norwich as a “profit-making scheme” for the land trust.
