Flint Native & Grand Blanc Alum Willie Mack III to Make PGA Debut
Flint native, golfer Willie Mack III, just had his dreams come true, and he has none other than Tiger Woods to thank.
The Grand Blanc High School alum will be making his PGA debut at the 2021 Genesis Invitational. Tournament host Tiger Woods announced Willie Mack III as the recipient of the Charlie Sifford Memorial Exemption for the invitational.

Woods made the announcement of the special exemption which was named after Sifford, the PGA Tour s first Black player, who won twice on the Tour. The honor has been awarded since 2009, and promotes diversity in golf.

FLINT, MI Chris Swanson was 18 when he first applied to become a seasonal marine deputy for the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department.
During the hiring process, Swanson said he was asked: “At the end of your career, what do you want to have accomplished?”
“I looked around and said ‘I’m going to run this place,’” Swanson said.
Now he does.
Chris Swanson was sworn in as Genesee County’s 40th sheriff Wednesday, Jan. 6.
Genesee Circuit Court Judge Brian Pickell, the son of Swanson’s predecessor, Robert Pickell, performed the ceremony.
