Frank Mir believes his fighting stock has risen more in a loss in his pro boxing debut than most of his MMA victories, but the experience wasn’t all positive from his end.
Mir competed on the Triller Fight Club event earlier this month against former, multiple-time cruiserweight world champion Steve Cunningham and went the distance over the six-round bout. The judges scored the fight 60-54, 60-54, 58-56 for Cunningham in the first of two MMA vs. boxing matchups of the event.
The former UFC heavyweight champion has no issues with the judges scoring it for Cunningham; however, he does have an issue with two judges not giving him a single round.

Paige VanZant made her bareknuckle boxing debut way back on Super Bowl weekend. The former UFC fighter lost a decision to Britain Hart at an event aptly named, KnuckleMania. Despite the loss, VanZant said she made a ton of money which is as good a reason as any to let someone punch you in the face on television, but Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship might have buyer s remorse because the event did not move many units.
According to Wrestling Observer, via BJPenn.com, KnuckleMania only sold 5,000 pay-per-views on television. Combined with another 20,000 streaming and it doesn t sound like a lot. Especially considering VanZant signed a multi-million dollar deal and hinted that she would make $400,000 for her first fight.

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is back tonight for BKFC 17, and our live coverage will kick off at 8 pm ET for the card from Birmingham, Alabama.
You can order the standalone PPV at Fite TV if you want, or you can watch cheaper via the BKTV app.
Tonight’s main event will see Frank Tate step in on short notice for the injured Dillon Cleckler and face Josh Burns, a bare knuckle veteran with a 5-4 (5 KO) record. Tate is 0-1-1 and was scheduled for the card, so he has been training. And bare knuckle is a wild sport, one shot can turn the tide in a hurry.

On Wednesday, it was reported that UFC veteran Diego Sanchez will no longer be part of his scheduled May 8th bout with Donald Cerrone. No specific reasons were given, as Sanchez and the UFC kept mum about the entire situation.
A day later, the 39-year-old Sanchez posted an Instagram story to say he was “Free at last.” He also tagged other fight promotions namely Bellator, ONE Championship, Brave MMA, and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, which likely implies his release from the UFC.
