Select pharmacies in the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health (WDGPH) region have begun booking vaccination appointments for residents.
Pharmacies across the province began booking appointments for vaccinations on April 1, to administer the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Eligibility for the vaccine has been restricted to those aged 55 or older in 2021, and requires those booking to have a valid Ontario health (OHIP) card or another valid government-issued identification.
Bookings for vaccinations can be made online through the pharmacies website.
The following pharmacies are part of the program in Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health:
Shelburne
Orangeville
Shoppers Drug Mart at 25 Broadway Ave.

Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health’s top doc has ordered all school boards in the region to revert back to online learning tomorrow (Apr. 7).
Dr. Nicola Mercer stated the growing number of COVID-19 cases and the presence of severe variants as reasons for a return to the at-home learning model.
The order doesn’t impact childcare located in schools.
Students in the region won’t be able to return to class until at least April 19th.
KITCHENER Waterloo Region s top doctor said she s not planning to shut down in-person learning at local schools. In an emailed statement to CTV Kitchener, Medical Officer of Health Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang said given our overall COVID-19 situation in the region at this time, she doesn t plan to issue a Section 22 order to shutdown schools. We are however monitoring our local situation closely and will take additional actions as required, a statement from Dr. Wang said in part. Schools in Peel Region were ordered to close as of April 6 as COVID-19 cases surge in that area. Students in Brampton, Caledon and Mississauga will move to online learning until at least April 18.

Toronto Public Health and various school boards confirmed the closures Monday night “Today, Toronto Public Health (TPH) has recommended the temporary dismissal of all school cohorts for the following schools as a result of ongoing COVID-19 investigations,” Toronto Public Health said in a statement to CP24. “Each COVID-19 case in a school requires a careful investigation to determine the potential risk to other individuals in that setting, and based on the findings of the investigation, decisions are then made on how best to protect the staff and students in the school, including dismissing some cohorts or all cohorts,” the statement read.
