All COVID-19 vaccinations have been temporarily suspended until further notice, due to the ash fall from the La Soufriere volcano in St Vincent and the Grenadines, which has been affecting the island.
Co-coordinator of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, Major David Clarke, said the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Immunisation Unit would inform persons with appointments as to when the administration of first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine would resume.
The Ministry thanks members of the public for their understanding and co-operation in this matter. (

As the Ministry of Health and Wellness’ Immunisation Unit resumes administration of first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from tomorrow, Thursday, April 8, the focus will be on addressing the backlog.
This will comprise people who registered during the first phase of the National Vaccination Programme for COVID-19, while frontline workers who have not yet received their first dose will also be vaccinated.
The administration of the vaccine will run until Wednesday, April 14.
Co-coordinator of the Programme, Major David Clarke, explained that no new registrations for appointments would be facilitated during this round of first doses.
He added that once the backlog was taken care of, the Ministry would open up a new appointment App, which would allow people to schedule appointments themselves.
