Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan reach agreement on ceasefire
AKIPRESS.COM - The agreement was reached on ceasefire since 8.00 p.m. and removal of military forces to their previous duty stations as a result of talks held between the Foreign Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev held talks with Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Mukhriddin and other officials to discuss further joint actions of the sides aimed at regulation of the border situation.
The sides found it necessary to regulate the border conflict peacefully through talks.
Kyrgyzstan does not lay claims on territory of another country and does not intend to cede its land to anyone. All issues should be solved at the table of negotiations with participation of high-level representatives of both countries in the framework of governmental delegations for delimitation and demarcation of the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbaev said.

The note of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan was handed in to the Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, in which the Tajik side expressed concerns over illegal actions of representatives of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan with regard to two underage citizens of Tajikistan in Kulik area, Vorukh district, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported.
Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Huseinzoda said actions leading to tension in border zone are inadmissible. He urged the Kyrgyz side to undertake immediate actions to hold those responsible guilty and to inform the Tajik side about the results.
