As Prime Minister Imran Khan is on a three-day tour to Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said the visit was “extremely important” in the history of bilateral relations.
“The visit of Imran Khan is extremely important in the history of the brotherly relations… We have an excellent visit from the prime minister and many many subjects covered,” the Saudi foreign minister said in an interview with Pakistan Television via video link.
He said during the interaction, the two leaderships had a main focus on economic cooperation, facilitation of greater investment and trade.
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia and Egypt on Monday condemned Israel for undermining Palestinian rights as days of clashes in Jerusalem erupted into an exchange of fire between Israel and Gaza.
The comments came after talks between Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry on developments in Jerusalem.
The ministers discussed “the rapid developments in the Palestinian arena, and the recent Israeli incursions into the compounds of the Al-Aqsa mosque,” Ahmed Hafez, the Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman, said.
Shoukry briefed Prince Faisal on an Egyptian statement calling on Israel to “assume its responsibility to stop these violations in accordance with the rules of international law, and to provide the necessary protection for Palestinian civilian.”

ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan al Saud has said the Kingdom can play a role to reduce the tension between Pakistan and India and commended the recent ceasefire between the neighbouring countries as an “excellent step in right direction”.
He made the remarks in response to a question during an interview with state run Pakistan Television via video link.

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia and Pakistan signed several agreements on Saturday and vowed to “further strengthen, deepen and diversify the existing bilateral political, economic, trade, defence and security ties”.
On his visit to the kingdom, Prime Minister Imran Khan was given a warm welcome by Saudi officials in Jeddah. He was greeted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the airport, before holding talks with Saudi officials at Jeddah’s Al-Salam Palace.
“They affirmed the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries and underscored the importance of expanding and intensifying aspects of bilateral cooperation and coordination,” a Saudi statement said.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said on Sunday that Saudi Arabia will work to encourage reduction in tension between Pakistan and India, while also terming Pakistan s role critical in the Afghan peace process. On [the] relationship with India, I really want to commend [on] what has been achieved recently of a calming of tensions and a ceasefire. This is an excellent step in the right direction, Prince Faisal said.
