The Foreign Secretary has welcomed a UN agency probe to understand what led to the “grave violation of international law” resulting in a Ryanair flight being diverted to Belarus, allowing a prominent critic to be arrested.
Dominic Raab said he hoped the International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) fact-finding investigation into the events that forced the landing of Ryanair flight FR4978 in Minsk on Sunday will discover the “full circumstances” leading up to what he branded an “attack” on global aviation rules.

LONDON: Foreign ministers of the G7 wealthy nations on Thursday (May 27) called for the immediate and unconditional release of Roman Protasevich, a Belarusian journalist arrested by the regime in Minsk after the plane he was on was diverted.

The UK s Ambassador to the UN and WTO in Geneva, Simon Manley, delivered this statement during the Special Session on Occupied Palestinian Territory including East Jerusalem.
This madness urgently needs to be fought by those who help make the cultural weather. It’s not enough for politicians to promise support to a Jewish community that’s under siege.
