The Prince of Wales has personally thanked staff who cared for his late father at St Barts Hospital before his death. Prince Charles, 72, was on a visit to the historic hospital in the City of London today when he got the chance to meet privately with some of the team that cared for the Duke of Edinburgh when he was transferred for heart surgery in March. Royal officials declined to say who, saying the hospital wanted to protect their identities, but confirmed the group included a nurse, a consultant and a therapist. Coronavirus-related cyber crime contributes to 15-fold surge in scam takedowns

The UK’s cyber security agency has taken down more scams in the last year than in the previous three years combined, with coronavirus and NHS-themed cyber crime among the surge. Experts oversaw a 15-fold rise in the removal of online campaigns compared to 2019, according to the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). There was a jump in the number of phishing attacks using NHS branding to dupe victims, with the Covid-19 vaccine rollout used as a lure via email and text message to harvest people’s personal information for fraud. Some 43 fake NHS Covid-19 apps hosted outside of official app stores were also pulled.
