New Delhi [India], January 29 (ANI): Supreme Court on Friday issued notice to the Centre on a public interest litigation (PIL) seeking direction to the Centre to fill the pending vacancies at Appellate Tribunal, Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in New Delhi expeditiously.
A Bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan seeks response from the Centre within four weeks.
The plea was filed by Advocate Amit Sahni who said that the government has failed to take adequate and appropriate steps on the filling of vacant posts in the tribunal.

Amazon for alleged violation of the foreign exchange law and rules of the country, official sources said on Thursday.
The probe is being conducted under various sections of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) after the central probe agency recently received a communication from the Commerce Ministry seeking necessary action against e-commerce players like Amazon and Flipkart pertaining to certain multi-brand retail businesses and an observation made by the Delhi High Court in relation to Amazon.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court Friday sought the Centre s reply on a plea seeking direction for filling up vacant posts of the chairperson, members and other staff at the Appellate Tribunal Prevention of Money Laundering Act (ATPMLA) in the national capital.
A bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and M R Shah took note of the submissions of senior lawyer Mahabir Singh that various posts at ATPMLA are lying vacant since 2019.
The deal has been hanging in the balance ever since the US-based e-commerce giant raised a petition in the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) last October. The petition was raised due as the giant owns a 49 percent stake in the promoter-entity of Future Retail called Future Coupons. It has also acquired a 3.58 percent stake through Future Coupons in Future Retail.
According to the investors’ agreement that Amazon had with Future Coupons, the giant had barred the Indian entity from selling its assets to 15 companies. These companies include Reliance Industries, Walmart, Alibaba, Softbank, Google, Naspers, eBay, Target, Paytm, Zomato, Swiggy and more.
