C.T Group has recently inked a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Foreign Trade University â Ho Chi Minh City Campus, marking a new phase of development and partnership in various fields.

According to Tran Kim Chung, chairman of C.T Group, the move is expected to spur a new model of cooperation between universities and businesses. C.T Group will partner with Foreign Trade University to research the development of a digital banking platform for export and second home programmes in foreign markets like Japan and Singapore.

COVID-19: 60 cases documented on May 6
Vietnam recorded 60 cases of COVID-19 during the 12 hours to 6pm May 6, including 56 locally-infected cases and four imported, according to the Health Ministry.
Among the 56 local cases, 16 were at the second facility of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Hanoi, 12 in the northern province of Bac Ninh, 11 in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, four in Hanoi, 3 in the central city of Da Nang.
The national tally has reached 3,090, with 1,690 local cases. In the latest wave of outbreaks from April 27, 120 cases have been detected.

Tran Nguyen Kim Thi is a postdoc majoring in AI usage in medicine at the Huge Kaul Precision Medicine Institute at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) in the US.
She obtained a doctorate in immunology in 2020 with research work on the factors of the immune system that affect chronic lung diseases.
Her research found that in patients suffering from uncommon pulmonary fibrosis of unknown origin, their immune systems have a variety of disorders that lead to immune cells attacking their lungs. The damages that accumulate over time turn into hard scarring that replaces normal lung tissue, impairing the lung s air exchange function.

Concerns over university English language requirements
At least 30 universities in Vietnam have announced they would prioritise or enrol students who have International English Language Testing System (IELTS) certificate scores from 4.0 to 6.5 and use the English language proficiency certificates as part of admission criteria, but concerns have been raised about inequality for students in rural areas, reports

Many people support the move to help improve the quality of enrolment. Vu Thi Hien, head of the department of training management under the Foreign Trade University (FTU), said the FTU would admit students based on their high school performance and English competency. Hien said many training programmes in universities use English as the main language, even the language of instruction.
