The Kingdom of Bahrain yesterday participated in the celebrations of International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 annually.
This year focuses on the theme “Women in the Leadership Ranks: Achieving a Future of Equality in the World of COVID-19”, in line with the main theme of the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women: “Women In Public Life, and Equal Participation in Decision-making.” Thanks to the wise approach of His Majesty the King and the initiatives of the Supreme Council for Women in partnership with the legislative, executive and judicial authorities, private sector institutions and civil society, Bahrain was able to provide a role model in supporting the advancement of women and the exercise of their political, economic and societal rights.

Bahrain has affirmed its keenness in promoting various aspects of cooperation with the European Union in all fields to achieve more growth and development of common interests.
This was emphasised by Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani as he met yesterday European Council President Charles Michel at the European Council headquarters as part of his official visit to Brussels.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on the developments of the political and security situation in the region and discussed a number of current regional and international issues, as well as efforts aimed at achieving regional and international security, stability and peace.
