Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani praised relations and the strategic cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Turkey in all fields whether political, or in terms of the economy and other fields. In a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey H E Mevlut Cavusoglu, Qatar s top diplomat praised the outcomes of the 6th Session of Qatar-Turkey Supreme Strategic Committee held on November 26 last year, which yielded 10 agreements in different fields. The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs highlighted the importance of the visit by the Turkish Foreign Minister to Qatar, adding that they discussed a number of regional issues. Doha: Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H E Mevlut Cavusoglu, will pay official visits to the Gulf countries including Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. The Foreign Minister will hold important discussions with his counterparts in these brotherly countries, said Turkish Ambassador to Doha, H E Mustafa Goksu, in statement yesterday.
The Minister’s tour of the Gulf states which starts today with visit to Qatar comes at an important time after the Gulf reconciliation that was achieved on January 5, during the 41st Gulf Summit held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund is looking east for deals in an effort to diversify an investment portfolio heavily weighted toward North America and Europe.
