Mongolian, US foreign ministers discuss ties
AKIPRESS.COM - B. Battsetseg, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, had a telephone conversation with Antony Blinken, United States Secretary of State, on April 20.
The two sides have expressed their shared views on the active expansion and development of the Mongolia-American relations and cooperation within the framework of the Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen and strengthen the ties, Montsame reports.
Minister B. Battsetseg expressed content over the bilateral cooperation between the countries, as well as appreciation and gratitude for United States’ continued support to the partnership. The Foreign Minister also informed of the recent entry into force of the MCC Second compact.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the actively
developing Mongolia- U.S. relations and cooperation in line with the concept of
the Strategic Partnership, and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening
this close relationship. They noted the successful implementation of the
measures agreed during the bilateral consultation between the Ministry of

B.Battsetseg held a telephone conversation yesterday with Minister of Foreign
Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi. Minister Wang Yi congratulated Minister B.Battsetseg on her
appointment and wished a success on her future endeavors.
The sides expressed satisfaction with the comprehensive strategic
partnership between the two countries which is actively developing even in the difficult
situation of COVID-19 pandemic, while underscoring their commitment to work
closely to further enhance bilateral cooperation.
The sides agreed that high-level reciprocal visits and
meetings of cooperation mechanisms should be held in an appropriate manner taking into consideration the pandemic situation.
Enhanced Framework Trade Preference Scheme s letter signed
UK and Mongolia exchange letters on the UK’s Enhanced Framework Trade Preference Scheme

On 5 February, Her Majesty’s Ambassador, Philip Malone, exchanged letters with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Munkhjin Batsumber, regarding the UK’s Enhanced Framework Trade Preferences Scheme which came into effect on 1 January 2021.
The scheme grants preferential access to the UK market for Mongolia in support of Mongolian economic development. It will enable Mongolian companies to export to the UK with nil or reduced import tariffs on a range of goods. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia welcomed the scheme as supporting increased competitiveness for Mongolian products and providing a platform for increased trade between the UK and Mongolia.
