Speaking after last night’s European Council meeting, the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said leaders were voiced anger at the “utterly unacceptable hijacking of a Ryanair flight by Belarus authorities.”
“Roman Protasevich has to be released immediately,” she said.

No decision has been made on appointing a Special Envoy for Northern Ireland, the White House said on Tuesday, amid growing calls for an envoy to be appointed.
