Malaysian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hishammuddin Hussein is visiting Singapore from Saturday to Sunday, May 1 to 2, Singapore s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) announced in a press release issued on Saturday, May 1.
Hishammuddin, 60, is a Member of Parliament for Sembrong, Johor and was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia on Mar. 9, 2020.
He will call on Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean.
He will also meet Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan who will join him in the breaking of his fast.
The last meeting between Hishammuddin and Balakrishnan was on in Putrajaya, Malaysia on Mar. 23, 2021.
When Mrs Dia Golani started raising funds last Saturday to send oxygen cylinders to India, she hoped to hit $6,000. But in less than a week, the amount hit $43,000.
This week, she will be able to send 50 oxygen cylinders to a hospital in Ahmedabad. The 34-year-old Singaporean, who works in a freight company, said reading about the tragedies in India cut close to home. My mother-in-law s sister died last year from Covid-19 in Mumbai.
Hers is just one of several ground-up initiatives in Singapore to gather supplies or collect funds for India, which has seen over two million new coronavirus cases in the past week alone.

SINGAPORE: Singapore s Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan on Wednesday (Apr 7) sent condolences to his counterparts in Indonesia and Timor-Leste, after landslides and floods devastated both countries.
Tropical cyclone Seroja pounded Indonesia and Timor-Leste on Monday after torrential rain triggered floods and landslides that have killed at least 113 people and left dozens more missing.
