They have claimed that it was contrary to section 5.3 of the World Health Organisation’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) and violation of Geneva Convention which suggests fulfilling international obligations. They have further alleged that the tobacco companies used such events to enter in the power corridors and establish contacts with the decision makers.

Japan pledges additional COVID aid to India Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu has told his Indian counterpart that Tokyo will provide up to 50 million dollars additionally to help India s medical system, which is under serious strain due to a surge in coronavirus cases. Motegi talked online with India s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar in London on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a Group of Seven meeting. Jaishankar was attending the meeting virtually after two Indian delegates tested positive for the coronavirus.
