United Nations, May 26 : India s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has offered India s support to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for his re-election during a meeting in New York at which they discussed a range of issues from Covid-19 vaccine to terrorism.
In a tweet after the meeting on Tuesday, Jaishankar said that he told Guterres that India values his leadership and conveyed its support for his election to a second term.
New York [US], May 25 (ANI): During his meeting with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed solidarity with the Indian government and people in their efforts against the second COVID-19 wave, informed the Permanent Mission of India to UN TS Tirumurti.

New York [US], May 25 (ANI): External Affairs MinisterS Jaishankar on Tuesday met with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, wherein they discussed the COVID-19 challenge and underlined the importance of finding urgent and effective global vaccine solutions.
During a press briefing, the UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told ANI: Yes, they met and discussed COVID-19 and the vaccine situation. They also discussed climate change and regional issues.”
In a series of tweets, Jaishankar informed about his meeting and elaborated on his discussions with Guterres on several issues, including climate change, India s role in the UN Security Council, terrorism and the situation in Afghanistan.
