Sens. Mark Warner, D-Virginia, and John Cornyn, R-Texas, co-chairs of the Senate India Caucus, wrote a letter to President Joe Biden April 27 asking him to ramp up aid to India amid the countryâs deepening COVID crisis.
âAs co-chairs of the Senate India Caucus, we are watching with growing alarm the unprecedented surge of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths, which has overwhelmed hospitals and the overall health system in India,â wrote Cornyn and Warner. âIndia is the now the epicenter of this crisis and faces a severe shortage of testing kits, vaccines, oxygen equipment, personal protective equipment, and medical facilities.â

New Delhi [India], April 29 (ANI): A special cargo with medical aid including 157 ventilators, 480 BiPAPs, and other medical supplies arrived from UAE to India on April 29, sources informed on Thursday.
According to sources, Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 has so far airlifted 18 cryogenic oxygen containers from Dubai Airport and landed at Panagarh Air Base in three sorties since April 26.
They also informed that a message of solidarity from the UAE over the COVID-19 situation in India was conveyed by lighting up their iconic buildings in tricolor on April 25.

New Delhi, April 29 : The exit poll findings released on Thursday dont look very exciting for the Congress, as except in Tamil Nadu, the Congress is unlikely to wrest power in any of the remaining four states/UT that went to the polls.
Former External Affairs Minister and senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid said that the exit poll projections for West Bengal are on the expected lines.

Canada will provide 10 million dollars to India to support the country in its fight against the unprecedented second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced. Addressing a press conference, Mr. Trudeau said that Minister of Foreign Affairs Marc Garneau had “direct conversations” with his Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar about how Canada can best help, including the donation of extra medical supplies.
“We are also ready to provide 10 million dollars through the Canadian Red Cross to the Indian Red Cross,” the Prime Minister said.
