New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): Asserting that relationship between India and China is at the crossroads , External Affairs MinisterS Jaishankar on Thursday said choices made by the two countries will have profound repercussions for the entire world.
Speaking at the 13th All Indian Conference of China Studies, Jaishankar said the clash between the Indian Army and the People s Liberation Army (PLA) in Ladakh last year at the Galwan Valley in Eastern Ladakh along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) has profoundly disturbed India-China relations.

New Delhi [India], January 27 (ANI): External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Wednesday over a telephonic conversation with British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab discussed progress made on issues that figured during their in-person talks last month.
Jaishankar also thanked his British counterpart for his warm wishes on the occasion of India s 72nd Republic Day.
Taking to Twitter, Jaishankar said, Good conversation with British Foreign Secretary @DominicRaab. Thanked him for his Republic Day good wishes. Encouraged by the progress on the issues that were discussed in December. Look forward to remaining in touch.

New Delhi [India], January 28 (ANI): External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar on Wednesday said that India provided medical supplies and equipment to over 150 nations during the COVID-19 pandemic, many of them as grants, to deal with the serious issues confronting the world.
Addressing the 14th Annual Conference of Institute for National Security Studies, Israel, the EAM said, Even as we have begun mass vaccination at home, Indian vaccine supplies to our immediate neighbours have started. This is expected to cover other partner countries in the coming days. The world can only benefit from a more collective effort to deal with the serious issues confronting us.

Weeks after India’s External Affairs Minister visited Sri Lanka, President Gotabaya Rajapaksa gave the green light to the India-backed port project in Colombo. The project, earlier put on hold following protests by workers’ unions, is approved at a time when the island nation is seeking a $2-billion financial lifeline from New Delhi.
Reports suggest that the Rajapaksa government has been seeking a $1 billion currency swap and $1 billion debt moratorium from India to save it from sinking into a sea of foreign debt.
Sri Lanka’s economic situation has turned worse of late. As of September 2020, the country was facing $51.6 billion in foreign debt, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. The foreign reserves dropped to $5.5 billion as of November 2020, down from the $7.6 billion in December 2019.
