Windows users that use multiple monitors or a secondary monitor for their laptops might have experienced an issue with the arrangement of apps when resuming a system from sleep. The windows on a second monitor either collapse to the main display or are automatically moved from where they were last left, making it a time-consuming affair to rearrange every time you return the PC from sleep.
Now, a fix is on the way for this issue as Microsoft has acknowledged the behavior and has confirmed that the problem has been addressed in Insider Preview builds 21287 and newer. Program Manager for the Graphics Team, Michelle Xiong, explains in a DevBlogs post that the technical term for the issue internally is Rapid Hot Plug Detect (Rapid HPD), and that it affects DisplayPort multi-monitor setups. The post also contains example videos of the problem in action and the behavior post the fix.

Microsoft today announced that the next major version of Windows 10 will officially be called the May 2021 Update. The firm says that build 19043.928 will likely be the final build for the update and it has also made updated ISO images available for the version. However, version 21H1, as it was known till now, is today receiving a new cumulative update in the Beta and Release Preview channels for those running the version of the OS, bumping the build number to 19043.962. The company will continue to service the OS with cumulative updates as it normally would.

Along with a minor cumulative update heading to Windows Insiders in the Dev channel today, the Redmond firm is also releasing Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3740.0 to the Beta and Release Preview channels, meaning that the update will head out to those testing Windows 10 version 21H1 in the Beta channel and those running 20H2 builds in the Release Preview channel. However, the Feature Experience Pack update will not be served for domain-joined accounts testing 21H1 for pre-release validation.
As for what’s new, there is just one change that relates to hyperlinks in the Input Method Editor (IME). Here’s the singular update noted by the company:
