According to Forbes’ 35th annual ranking of the world’s wealthiest people, released Wednesday, 9 out of the top 10 Canadian billionaires increased their wealth this year, even as the pandemic raged around them.
David Thomson, chairman of media company Thomson Reuters Corp., and family once again claimed the crown as Canada’s richest with US$41.8-billion net worth, up from US$31.6 billion last year. That makes Thomson the 33rd richest person in the world.

White Claw has launched its first campaign, called Let’s White Claw
Ireland-based Mark Anthony Brands launched White Claw in the US in 2016. The brand now accounts for 60% of the hard seltzer market in the US.
The Let’s White Claw campaign will feature a mix of film and music creators from around the world, who have been recruited to show everyday moments.
White Claw will run the campaign on Instagram, as well as Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube and Pinterest. It will initially start in the US from April before rolling out to other markets over the next four months.
