Published: 20 April 2021 PHILIPSBURG: - The staff of the Marie Genevieve de Weever Primary School recently had an informative session with Communications Coordinator Bart van der Meijden of the White Yellow Cross Care Foundation. The purpose of the informative session during the second staff meeting for this month was to apprise them of the COVID-19 vaccine program. “There is a lot of myths circulating around the island especially via social media and it s imperative that our staff gets first-hand information,” remarked Stuart Johnson School Manager of the Marie Genevieve de Weever Primary School. The staff was presented the “Vaccination Against COVID-19 roll out plan” by the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor. Additionally, the staff was able to ask countless questions regarding the ongoing vaccine program.

St Martin News Network - WYCCF & SMMC now administering second COVID-19 vaccine dose

Published: 15 March 2021 PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM): - Everyone who received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine three weeks ago at the White & Yellow Cross Care Foundation (WYCCF) and the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC), is scheduled to receive their second dose this week or next week. Three weeks ago, when the vaccination campaign started on Sint Maarten, the WYCCF and SMMC administered their staff and clients with their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. After that, the WYCCF continued for another week with the first registered persons 60 years or older. This group will receive their second dose this week or next week. If you were in this group, your next appointment at the WYCCF or SMMC will be at the exact same time and date as it was three weeks ago.

St Martin News Network - Ministry VSA to open Belair Community Center as Central Vaccination Location on Tuesday

Published: 08 March 2021 PHILIPSBURG (DCOMM): -The Vaccination Management Team (VMT), has announced that the second vaccination location for public vaccinations will be the Belair Community Center in Cay Hill and it opens on Tuesday, March 9th. In the original vaccination rollout plan, it was communicated that Dutch Quarter & Cole Bay community helpdesks would serve as public vaccination locations. At the time the VMT was not aware that the opportunity of the Belair Community Center was available. It has good parking space and is located at a well-known and location (opposite the Sint Maarten Medical Center (SMMC). The great advantage of Belair Community Center is plentiful space making it possible to easily upscale vaccination capacity depending on registration and demand.
