WASHINGTON President Biden signed a series of executive orders from the Oval Office hours after his inauguration on Wednesday.
Biden wore a mask while seated behind the Resolute Desk with a stack of orders early Wednesday evening. He said there was “no time to start like today.”

US President Joe Biden returned the US to the Paris Agreement in one of his first official acts on Wednesday, and launched a series of efforts that would transform how Americans drive and get their power.
“A cry for survival comes from the planet itself,” Biden said in his inaugural address. “A cry that can’t be any more desperate or any more clear now.”
Biden signed an executive order rejoining the Paris climate accord within hours of taking the oath of office, fulfilling a campaign pledge.
The move undoes the US withdrawal ordered by former US president Donald Trump.

U.S. President-elect Joe Biden is expected to move quickly to execute his energy and climate change agenda during his first 100 days in office, both through executive action and the launch or rollback of agency rulemakings.
The incoming president will also work closely with the Democrat-controlled U.S. Congress on climate policy as lawmakers draft further legislation to respond to the coronavirus pandemic.
The administration of President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris is expected come out of the gate with big moves to set the U.S. on the path to tackling climate change in their first 100 days in office.
