Last week, social media raised eyebrows and threw a lot of shade when actor Sylvester Stallone reportedly joined Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago. On Tuesday, his publicist confirmed that despite reports, Stallone is
not a member of Trump’s swanky Florida resort.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Stallone’s rep Michelle Bega clarified that “contrary to media reports and rumors, Sylvester Stallone is officially not a member of the Mar-a-Lago Club. He did not join the organization, he did not pay initiation dues.”

According to Bega, Stallone attended a fundraising luncheon at the Palm Beach, Florida, club and from that event it was mistakenly assumed that he was there as a member by Page Six, which cited area insiders as the provenance of the information in its April 7 story. Such a decision was met with criticism from Trump, who issued a statement in response claiming that baseball is losing “tremendous numbers of fans”.

On Feb. 11, 2021, Claudia Tenney was sworn into office as a member of the 117th U.S. Congress representing New York’s 22nd Congressional District in a ceremony overseen by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. That ceremony came over a month after most of Tenney’s colleagues were sworn in on Jan. 3, 2021, due to a legal challenge brought by her Democratic opponent, Anthony Brindisi, who ended up losing by 109 votes. This was not Tenney’s first swearing-in ceremony. She was first elected to Congress in 2016, but lost a reelection to Brindisi in 2018.
