Man charged in connection with death at Paisley house fire

John Dalziel died at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following a house fire in Paisley. POLICE have confirmed that a person has been charged in connection with the death of a man following a fatal house fire in Paisley. A 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged after fire crews were called to a property on Whites Bridge Avenue at 10.05pm on Thursday May, 6.  John Dalziel, 47, was found by emergency services at the scene and taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.  The 38-year-old man is expected to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Tuesday May, 11.

Emergency services were called to a report of a fire at Whites Bridge Avenue in the Renfrewshire town at around 10.05pm on Thursday night last week. John Dalziel, who was found inside the property, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. Police confirmed on Monday a 38-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death.

John Dalziel, 47, was discovered after a fire at a property in Whites Bridge Avenue in Paisley, Renfrewshire, at about 22:05 on Thursday. Mr Dalziel was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow but died a short time later. Officers said a number of people were in the area at the time. Det Ch Insp Stuart Grainger, of the Major Investigation Team, said: We are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened and our thoughts are very much with the family of Mr Dalziel at this difficult time for them.
