STAMFORD A larceny charge was dropped against the former transportation coordinator for Weston Public Schools in Superior Court on Thursday, nearly two years after he was first accused of stealing gas from the school district.
Prosecutors dismissed the lone count of second-degree larceny against David Lustberg, 57, after he successfully completed a probation program granted in December 2019.
Attorney Guy Soares, who represented Lustberg, did not respond to requests for comment Thursday after the hearing in Superior Court in Stamford.

HARTFORD, Conn. U.S. News has released its list of the top high schools in the nation and Darien High School - the top-ranked state school - hit the list at number 201.
The magazine s data includes nearly 24,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. They ranked 18,000 schools on six factors based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.
According to U.S.News, they weighted the factors as follows:
College Readiness 30%
The proportions of 12th graders who took and earned a qualifying score on at least one AP or IB exam. Earning a qualifying score is worth three times more than just taking.
Graduation rates.
College readiness specifically measures participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams, U.S. News & World Report said.
The data used was from the 2018-2019 academic school year, and therefore was not affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Darien High School in Fairfield County is ranked as the No. 1 high school in Connecticut. Darien High School is ranked first within Connecticut, U.S. News & World Report said. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement® coursework and exams. The AP participation rate at Darien High School is 69 percent. The total minority enrollment is 13 percent, and 3 percent of students are economically disadvantaged.
