WESTERVILLE, Ohio Students in Westerville will begin their week back in the classrooms all five days as part of their “Together again plan.
The plan includes those students who chose hybrid learning going into this second semester transitioning to full in-person learning with several precautions taking place.
Students and staff in Westerville City Schools will wear masks and sanitize regularly. The district has also moved furniture in classrooms and other spaces to create three feet of distancing between students.

Westerville City Schools students still may receive a free lunch and breakfast through the end of this school year.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has extended flexibilities in its Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option through June 30 to allow schools and other sites to continue to provide meals at no cost to all children, according to the USDA website: usda.gov.
The department previously extended free meals through December 2020, based on funding available at the time, but was able to extend throughout the entire 2020-21 school year through a continuing resolution signed into law by former President Donald Trump on Oct. 1, 2020, according to the USDA.
Westerville Together Again plan would bring most students back to daily classes March 8
Most Westerville City Schools students are scheduled to return to daily in-person classes beginning March 8.
Superintendent John Kellogg laid out the “Together Again: A Plan to Return All Students Full In plan” during the Feb. 8 school board meeting, telling board members they would see a trend of districts being “full in” in the next several weeks in Franklin County.
Although Westerville students who are in the blended-learning model are scheduled to return March 8, the students in the Westerville Virtual Academy will remain in distance learning for the remainder of the school year.
