A familiar name is back in local politics.
James Kuhl, of Painted Post, announced he plans to run for the Steuben County Legislature in the 12th District, currently represented by Republican Gary Roush, of Erwin.
Kuhl, 39, is the son of John R. Randy Kuhl, of Hammondsport, who represented parts of the Southern Tier for nearly 30 years, first in the state Assembly, then the state Senate, and eventually for two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.
James Kuhl, who ran his father s successful Republican congressional reelection campaign in 2006, is a senior business consultant at Salient Management Co., a business intelligence software firm based in Horseheads.
