Stratford Hall is a 1,500-acre plantation located in Westmoreland County on the Potomac River. The politician and planter Thomas Lee purchased the land for Stratford in 1717; although no records exist to indicate when the house was built, construction likely began in 1738 and was completed sometime in the 1740s. The plantation was home to two signers of the Declaration of Independence Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee and was the birthplace of the Confederate general Robert E. Lee. Thomas Lee’s descendants lived at Stratford until the 1820s, when Henry Lee IV sold the plantation to cover his debts. Since 1929, the Robert E. Lee Memorial Association, or RELMA, has owned Stratford Hall.

An Indiana County man facing charges in six upcoming trials is now charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass, theft and related crimes for an incident in Scottdale in Westmoreland County where he was apprehended with the help of a veteran and his dog.
The Tribune-Review reports that 30-year-old Corey Matthew Pandullo, who is listed as having addresses in Indiana and Blairsville, was apprehended Wednesday after he tried to break into several homes near Loucks Avenue and Mulberry Street. It started around 8:00 Wednesday Morning when resident Richard Grabiak left his garage door open as he went to a nearby convenience store for a cup of coffee. When he came back, he found Pandullo in the garage. Grabiak grabbed a garden tool to hold him at bay. A Scottdale officer tried to restrain Pandullo, but he shoved the officer and took off towards the back of the house. The officer had cuts to his hand and
