Trafford man accused of attacking 3 people

A Trafford man is accused by police of attacking three people on Third Street in the borough Thursday morning, according to court papers. Alfred H. Tournay III, 53, is charged with aggravated assault, burglary, criminal mischief, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment. Police were called to Third Street at 7 a.m. for a reported domestic incidents. Police say Tournay walked into a sleeping woman’s bedroom and began screaming and throwing things at her, according to court papers. As the woman ran out of the house, Tournay, the report says, continued to throw things at her before tossing her to the ground outside. She was hospitalized for treatment of facial cuts.

Arnold woman tried to take Lower Burrell officer s gun during arrest, police say

Lower Burrell police said an Arnold woman who wrecked her car at Burrell Lake Park on Saturday tried to take an officer’s gun and Taser, and hit, kicked and spit on officers as they arrested her. Michelle Pusateri, 37, also faces charges of child endangerment because police said she was driving under the influence with her 4-year-old son in the car. Police said Pusateri fought them at the scene of the crash, in the police car, again when they reached the police station and after she was placed in a holding cell.

Coronavirus cases continue to mount at Westmoreland County Prison, with eight additional inmates testing positive for the virus Saturday, bringing the total number infected to 114, according to interim Warden George Lowther. Lowther said two units at the Hempfield facility remain in lockdown in an attempt to limit the virus from spreading to other areas of the jail that currently houses 468 inmates. “We believe we have it under control as well as can be expected, but as we’re all learning with this virus we don’t really know what to expect next,” he said.
