Westmoreland fisherman charged in mob murder offered bail

A Westmoreland fisherman, Mark Watson, who is accused in the mob killing of a man in January has been released on bail. Watson was offered $500,000 bail in the Westmoreland Parish Court, following an application by attorney Able-Don Foote yesterday. The other accused men Delmar Cunningham, Ricardo Bailey and Triston Daley were remanded in custody. It’s alleged that Watson and a group of men attacked the deceased, 62-year-old Delroy Grant, with a hammer, a machete and a piece of iron at his home on January 11, 2021. The victim later died in the Cornwall Regional Hospital on January 17. During the bail application, Foote argued that Watson was not a flight risk as he had surrendered himself to the Savanna-la-Mar police.
